If your UI is the same across device sizes and languages, upload the highest required resolution and Apple scales it down. If a localized preview is missing, the next best available language is used. On iOS you can use portrait or landscape, but Mac, Apple TV and Vision Pro previews must be landscape.

Previews appear before the screenshots on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. If a preview's aspect ratio differs from your screenshots, it shows in the "A Closer Look" section instead.

Google Play promo video

Google Play takes a link instead of a file. Add the YouTube URL of a single public or unlisted video that is embeddable, not age-restricted, and has ads turned off. Google recommends showing the real app within the first 10 seconds. Only the first 30 seconds autoplay. Details are on the Google Play requirements page.

Do and don't

Do

  • Show real app footage: the screens people will actually use.
  • Open with the main benefit, not a logo.
  • Keep it close to 15 to 30 seconds and focused on one story.
  • Make it work with the sound off, with clear on-screen text.
  • Export at the exact accepted resolution for the size you target.

Don't

  • Don’t exceed 30 fps, 500 MB or 30 seconds.
  • Don’t upload a portrait video for Mac, Apple TV or Vision Pro.
  • Don’t use a file type that is not H.264 or ProRes 422 (HQ).
  • Don’t make the first seconds a slow intro.
  • Don’t forget a poster frame that looks good as a still image.

Preview videos work together with your screenshots. For those, see App Store screenshot sizes and screenshots that convert.
