Overview
Screentrino ("we", "us") is operated by JS Digital. This policy explains what information we collect when you use screentrino.com and the Screentrino app, and how we use it. By using Screentrino, you agree to this policy.
What we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we receive your email address and name from your chosen sign-in provider (such as Google). We use this to identify your account and keep your projects in sync.
Your projects and screenshots
Your screenshots are styled directly in your browser. Saved projects — including the images you upload and the styling choices you make — are stored against your account so they sync across your devices.
Payment information
We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, Paddle, who is the merchant of record for your purchase. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and for which plan.
Export records
When you export screenshots without the watermark, we record the time (from our server), your account, the purchase it belongs to, the project name, the number, sizes and format of the files, and basic details of the browser you used. The first time you export on a purchase, we also record the confirmation you gave and its exact wording. We don't store copies of the exported images. Uploading to App Store Connect or Google Play from Screentrino counts as an export, so it is recorded the same way, along with the number of languages. We use these records only to manage your plan and to handle billing and refund requests.
AI writing and translation
When you use Write with AI or Translate, we send what the feature needs through our server to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI models that do the work. This can include the app description or link you give, the headlines, subtitles, notes and stickers on your slides and, if you choose to include them, smaller copies of your screenshots. If you give a link, our server opens that page to read about your app. Anthropic processes this only to send back the result, and under its commercial terms it doesn't use it to train its models. We keep a count of how many AI runs and translation credits your account uses (per day, per export pass or per month, depending on your plan), so we can apply its limits.
App Store Connect and Google Play keys
If you connect App Store Connect or Google Play, the private key from your .p8 or .json file is locked inside your browser on that device. It can't be read back or exported, and it is never sent to us. When you upload, your browser uses the key to create a short-lived access token. That token, your finished screenshots and the details of the app and version you picked pass through our relay to Apple or Google, because their systems don't accept these requests straight from a web page. The relay only allows reading your listing and changing its screenshots, and it doesn't keep the tokens or images. You can remove a saved key at any time in the app.
Usage and crash data
We use privacy-conscious analytics (PostHog) to understand which features are used, and crash reporting (Sentry) to catch and fix bugs. These tools may collect technical details like browser type, device type and pages visited, but are configured not to collect your screenshot content.
How we use your information
- To provide and sync the Screentrino service across your devices
- To write and translate your screenshot text when you ask for it, and to apply your plan's usage limits
- To upload your screenshots to App Store Connect or Google Play when you ask for it
- To process payments and manage your export pass or subscription
- To handle refund requests and payment disputes, using your export records
- To respond to support requests
- To fix bugs and improve the product
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Screentrino: Supabase (hosting your account and project data, and running our server functions), Anthropic (AI writing and translation), our payment provider (billing), PostHog (analytics) and Sentry (crash reporting). When you choose to upload, your screenshots go to your own account at Apple (App Store Connect) or Google (Google Play), where their own privacy policies apply. We do not sell your data to anyone.
Data retention
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. Export records are kept for up to 24 months after each export, because they may be needed for refund requests and payment disputes. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data, including export records, at any time by emailing support@screentrino.com.
Cookies and local storage
Screentrino uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in, to remember your in-progress project and your settings for it (such as your AI description and store settings), and to keep any App Store Connect or Google Play key you add on that device. We don't use advertising cookies.
Children's privacy
Screentrino is a tool for app developers and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Screentrino after a change means you accept the updated policy.
